After taking off last week for the Independence Day holiday, we’re back today with what could quite possibly be our final episode of “Low-Carb Conversations.” Because we are a listener-supported show, we need the donations of listeners like YOU to help keep it going.     My own health food store is awash in alternative-grain products slathered in eco-marketing slogans, and people still buy them up. “Oh, it’s ORGANIC!”, or “it’s cleaner grain” seems to be buzzing around in their heads as they buy, but it isn’t: GRAIN IS GRAIN, and just as processed and full of empty calories. Organic Pop-Tarts, boxed cereals, frozen pizzas, and battered fish sticks are still JUNK just like their conventional counterparts.

    Remember when “organic” meant back-to-nature? How is the same old junk food made with different grains getting back to nature?
